• Conduct cutting-edge research on emerging battery technologies suitable for hybrid electric propulsion systems for aviation applications.
• Define battery pack testing equipment and laboratory infrastructure requirements.
• Develop battery test plans that meet the unique requirements of hybrid aircraft propulsion.
• Conduct thorough analyses of battery systems using simulation tools to predict behaviour under various conditions and identify areas for improvement.
• Design and optimize battery systems for hybrid electric propulsion systems.

Who are we looking for?

• Strong understanding of battery materials, test protocols, and aviation standards.
• Understanding of failure at the cell and pack levels, thermal runaway, and internal shorting.
• Simulation experience with COMSOL Multiphysics or similar tools.
• Strong written and oral communication skills

QualificationsExperience, skills and qualifications required:

• PhD degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on battery technology or energy storage solutions.
• Proven experience in battery research, development, and testing, preferably in the aviation industry.
• Minimum 5 years experience in battery design and testing with a strong portfolio of related project.
