By accelerating electrons to near light-speed, Diamond generates brilliant beams of light from infra-red to X-rays which are used for academic and industry research and development across a range of scientific disciplines including structural biology, physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, earth and environmental sciences.About the RoleWe now have an opportunity for a Beamline scientist/Senior Beamline scientist working in the area of condensed matter physics research. The position is based on beamline I06, which offers polarised x-ray spectroscopy and microscopy.Responsibilities will include:
*Applicants will be considered at either Grade 4 or 5, depending on the strength of your skills, experience, and qualifications. *About YouYou will hold an appropriate first degree or equivalent and a PhD degree/Second degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, or related discipline.Experience in quantum materials research, electron microscopes, ultrahigh vacuum and polarised x-ray techniques are required for this post. You should be able to demonstrate an established reputation in a relevant area of research along with a track record of developing scientific equipment.As well as experience in the following areas:
