We’re seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. This full-time, long-term position is available immediately and will extend until the end of the academic year.Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents is essential.
- A valid and up-to-date DBS check registered on the update service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
- A genuine commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of young people.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviour.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions in collaboration with teachers and support staff.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement individualised support plans.
- Collaborate with external agencies and professionals as needed to support student well-being.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student behaviour and progress.
