The Team
The Business Operations division executes several enabling capabilities that maintain the foundation’s operational infrastructure and programmatic impact. We strive to enable the foundation’s mission and impact-driven work by maintaining an efficient, well-run global organization where employees can thrive and make their best contributions. Our goal is to provide innovative and scalable solutions to support the overall priorities, allocation, and leadership agenda with the highest standards of integrity and operational excellence! The division comprises Information Technology (IT); Facilities, Events, Travel, and Security (FETS); the Office of the COO (OCOO) inclusive of Global Business Design (GBD). The broader OCOO has a remit for division effectiveness as well as playing a critical role in enabling initiatives with increasing complexity and need for collaboration, design, and implementation across operations functions. This team will support and enable the division to carry out its remit of optimizing operations to facilitate programmatic impact by providing solutions that keep up our evolving business needs.
Your Role
As the Senior Program Manager, Global Business Design, you will play a pivotal role in leading a cross-functional, cross-organizational transformation initiative to redesign and improve operational shared services for the foundation and its affiliate organizations. This effort will require deep solution design expertise and the ability to bring together collaborators at every level across multiple organizations to align on a shared set of principles and frameworks for structuring, delivering, and governing shared services.
In this role, you will own the planning and execution of initiatives that drive efficiency, effectiveness, and strategic alignment across the foundation and its affiliates. You will be responsible for designing and implementing decision-making frameworks that guide how shared services are structured and governed, ensuring that solutions are both scalable and responsive to the unique needs of different entities. Success in this position requires a balance of big-picture critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate highly complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams across the foundation, ensuring that collaborators are engaged in a collaborative and transparent process. Your role will involve facilitating discussions that bridge organizational priorities, operational realities, and long-term strategic goals. More than just delivering solutions, you will be responsible for shaping how work gets done – championing an approach that aligns with the foundation’s values and fosters a shared sense of ownership, innovation, and accountability.

The salary range for this role is $169,700 to $254,500 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences in Seattle and Washington D.C., where our offices are located. The range for this role in these locations is $185,000 to $254,500 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
