An opportunity has arisen in the Environmental Promotions team for a Biodiversity Officer. You will support the Natural Environment Manager by providing technical ecological advice on development management, strategic planning, and biodiversity net gain matters, as well as to wider stakeholders across the Council and within the District. You will also support biodiversity projects and monitoring across Council sites, including biodiversity net gain sites, SSSIs, SINCs and public open spaces.
You will have a relevant ecology related degree or equivalent, and an understanding of ecological principals, survey methodology, and ecology-related planning legislation and policy in England.
You should be confident interpreting ecological information, communicating technical advice clearly, working with stakeholders and managing your own workload. Experience of habitat surveying, ecological data interpretation and biodiversity net gain projects would be an advantage.
Interviews are scheduled to be held on site at Hart District Council Offices/MS Teams.
