With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Job DescriptionArcadis is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our Design and Engineering team in our Mobility business area.This position can be based out of any of our office in Canada.You will have progressive experience in the design and construction of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other transportation-related structures. You will also have experience in leading the design development of new bridges and bridge rehabilitations, and in undertaking bridge inspections, investigations and assessment report preparation. In this role, you will be involved in solving complex problems, coaching and mentoring junior staff, project management and coordinating various disciplines on bridge related projects.Most of the things you’ll work on:Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs of bridges, culverts and other transportation-related structures including performing structural analysis and calculationsPreparation of reports and contract documentsCoordinating and reviewing drawing productionCommunication with other disciplines to assure project collaborationConstruction liaison and site inspections of bridges and civil structuresQuality Control/Quality Assurance; and other responsibility as may be assignedMentor, coach, and lead team membersAssist with preparing Business Development (BD) proposals in bidding for new workQualificationsYou’ll need to have:Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from an accredited universityLicensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (or other Provincial Association)Minimum Seven (7) years of design experience for new bridges and bridge rehabilitations for various bridge types and materials including highway and rail bridgesKnowledge in structural analysis software for the evaluation and analysis of all types of bridges and working knowledge of CAD softwareExperience and proven knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, and provincial/territorial standardsExcellent verbal and written communication skills including proven ability to prepare high quality reports and proposalsInitiative and ability to work independently and to provide direction to other members of a Project Team with a collaborative attitudeA commitment to deadlines, excellence and high quality work with a strong attention to detail and accuracyAnalytical thinker and problem solver with the ability to present ideas and design rationalDesire to grow, mentor, and inspire a teamAdditional InformationWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
