Business AnalystCalgary, ABLodgeLink’s Product Management team has a permanent full-time position for a Business Analyst in Calgary, AB. This role is hybrid – in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.Reporting to the GM, Product Management, the Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding LodgeLink’s opportunities and goals, helping to deliver new product innovations and driving process changes across the business. The Business Analyst conducts analysis of product requirements and solutions, supports business process change strategies, and facilitates stakeholder collaboration, from design and engineering squads to commercial and operational teams.The ideal candidate will be collaborative, dependable, inventive, smart, decisive, able to build strong relationships across the company, identify issues and opportunities. They will contribute to a vision and help translate that into action for our product development teams. They will embrace LodgeLink’s audaciousness and can operate in an agile environment.Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements and translate them into user stories as directed by the product management team.
  • Gather and analyze relevant data, presenting findings to stakeholders to help them make informed, data-led decisions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases that review existing services or determining future business needs and recommending strategies that satisfy business needs and objectives.
  • Process mapping, documentation and creation of use cases to assist in the analysis of processes.
  • Lead stakeholders to elicit, analyze, model, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, information systems & product features.
  • Validation of platform business rules and system changes.
  • Assist in solution design and project scoping sessions with key stakeholders to understand current business and commercial processes, identify opportunities and objectives, and make strategic and/or tactical recommendations.
  • Conduct and document gap analysis identifying missing business and operational capabilities impacting the business.
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies and assist in maintaining development sprint backlog with up-to-date user requirements and development tasks.
  • Collaborate with the product engineering team and conduct reviews ensuring the solution meets the defined requirements, identifying risks and dependencies.
  • Participate in user manual and documentation development depicting solution features for the end-users.
  • Participate in solution demos and prototype presentations for various stakeholders, ensuring solutions are review to ensure they meet business needs..
  • Solicit user feedback to learn, iterate and innovate.
  • Assist with creating training materials and conducting training sessions.
  • Providing day to day support for the product team, operations and stakeholders as required

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis or product ownership, preferably in a technology environment.
  • Experience with travel technology and mobile apps is considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary degree in business, technology or similar, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong fact-finding, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence others; experience with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) would be an advantage.
  • Ability to systematically gather data and compile it into understandable insights and instructions.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups of people, including executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple streams of work and deliver results within deadlines.
  • A customer advocate with excellent listening skills to fully understand customer requirements, and user pain points.
  • Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively and independently, with a focus on delivering results. Ability to manage small to medium projects, or smaller parts of cross functional programs,
  • Strong business insight, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of data models and processes flows and dependencies.
  • A proactive work style with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and manage their own time.
  • Familiarity with IT fundamentals, Agile methodology, SDLC and change management would be an asset.
