Alliance for Rural Electrification

ARE is recruiting a Business Development Assistant, starting in end of June 2024 for a duration of six months.

What you will do:

1.Membership engagement (60%)

•Identify and engage with potential new members who share our vision

•Maintain the potential member database

•Develop and update membership related materials

•Support in the sales of sponsorship and exhibition packages for ARE events andwebinars

•Collaborate in enhancing membership satisfaction and ensuring the retention ofexisting ARE members.

•Deliver membership services to existing members.

2.Project support (40%)

•Support with capacity-building actvities, such as organising masterclasses andinvestment trainings, from conceptualisation to implementation and reporting.

•Assist in the organisation of business delegations and webinars.

•Be a key player in organising and coordinating in-house and external events involvingliaising with speakers and programme implementation.

•Support the Business Development team as needed, which may include developingthe membership database, generating ideas, drafting proposals and reports.

About you:

• You bring a proactive mindset and a can-do attitude to the table.

• Atention to detail is your second nature.

• Your proficiency in both writen and spoken French and English is a must.

• You can take ownership of activities and projects, making things happen.

• You can provide clear and concise deliverables even under time pressure.

• You hold a higher education degree in business and economics, law, development, or related fields, or you have equivalent experience.

• You have 0-3 years of experience in a similar role, or you’re a passionate newcomer eager to make your mark.

• You have the right to live and work in Belgium.

• Knowledge of other languages, such as Portuguese and/or Spanish, is an asset.
