Business Manager, School of Veterinary Science – Grade 8

We are seeking to recruit a commercially astute and dynamic individual, with the ability to lead and inspire those around them, to the role of Business Manager for the School of Veterinary Science (SVS).

You will work closely with the SVS Senior Executive Team (VSET) to support the delivery of strategic objectives as well as identifying and scoping future development and funding opportunities for the school. You will support the School of Veterinary Science run businesses (two referral hospitals, three practices, two farms and diagnostic services) through identifying opportunities and efficiencies, developing an awareness of the facilities¿ capabilities and communicating the national and international reputation of the School, Institute and University to relevant external organisations. You will lead change projects to secure improvements to services, implement pricing reviews to ensure competitiveness and value for money and work closely with key external stakeholders to attract income.

The School of Veterinary Science has over 100 veterinary surgeons working in the referral hospitals and veterinary practices. They have access to state-of-the-art facilities and can tap into a wealth of expertise within the Institute and wider University, to provide the very best diagnosis, treatment and care. Veterinary colleagues across the UK refer a variety of species to the hospitals, including rare and emergency cases. The Institute has first-opinion practices for horses, livestock, and small animals.

You will have a degree or equivalent qualification, or relevant professional experience.
