The successful post holder will provide interventions for children, young people or families using evidence-based intervention consistent with the IPT-A modality.   • oA minimum of a second-class Bachelor’s degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject e.g. psychology, social work etc
  • oRegistered/accredited Professional Qualification in a MH profession is a pre-requisite for future registration with IPTUK.
  • oEvidence of continuous and relevant professional training and development (CPD), as appropriate with qualification period

ExperienceEssential

  • oSubstantial professional experience working therapeutically with young people or their families in a mental health setting.
  • oExperience of working with safeguarding issues.
  • oExperience of multi-agency working and liaising across internal & external agencies.

Desirable

  • oDemonstrates an understanding of adolescent development and its significance for emotional well-being and mental health.
  • oExperience of working with adolescents and their families
  • oExperience of working with families, school and other partner organisation to support young people who may be displaying behaviours that challenge.
  • oExperience in working in a multi-disciplinary context.
  • oWork in a multi-cultural setting, including working with interpreters and awareness of the impact of race and ethnicity on a CYP experience.

  • oKnowledge and understanding of issues relating to safeguarding children.
  • oAbility to communicate effectively and sensitively
  • oAbility to adapt communication style according to the varying needs of young people families.
