Aardvark work mainly within the renewable energy and waste sectors, where we provide a range of
services from outline feasibility and design, planning and operational consents through to
implementation and operation support. We have a wide client base, primarily of private sector
developers and operators but also within the research and technology development sectors. We
are independent and impartial to technology, suppliers and policies and work in partnership
with our clients where we aim to practical knowledge, commitment, integrity, and innovation to
their projects.

The Role:

Aardvark EM Limited is looking to recruit a Technical Lead in our Carbon and Assurance division
to help deliver projects for a growing client base.

We have ambitious goals for our Carbon and Assurance division including:

  • Continuation of carbon accounting services to our existing long term client base
  • Developing new opportunities for growth in verification of emissions against a range of
    standards and methodologies across projects from a wide range of industries and geographies
  • Drive growth in our life cycle assessment offering and expand this to include EPD services
  • Continue to grow our services in the built environment across a range if infrastructure
    development projects

You will act as the Technical Lead in this role providing support and guidance to existing
members of the carbon team as well as being responsible for delivery of projects and acting as
the primary point of contact for our clients.

Your purpose:

  • Trusted as a proactive subject matter expert in carbon assessment, management and
    verification, to work across the Aardvark client base to deliver our ambitions for the Carbon
    and Assurance team
  • Manage project delivery for clients using existing team to deliver on time and budget
  • Support the development and growth of junior carbon consultants to develop capabilities
    across the team
  • Drive delivery of our verification and assurance activities in line with our accreditations
    and customer expectations.

What you can bring:

  • Experience of whole life carbon management in relation to infrastructure development,
    products and processes will be essential.
  • Familiarity with a range of approaches to carbon measurement and assessment on projects.
  • Understanding and use of carbon accounting methodologies, guidance documents such as PAS
    2080:2016, and PAS2060 and knowledge of carbon calculation accounting and life cycle assessment
    tools such as OneClick LCA, Etool and EC3.
  • Experience of working on a range of carbon and climate projects, ideally within a
    consultancy environment, although alternative relevant experience will be considered.
  • A good understanding of, and passion for, the Net Zero agenda.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to establish structure and
    governance while engaging with internal and external stakeholders across the globe.
  • A self-starter able to work proactively and independently.
  • Able to work across multiple workstreams/projects and prioritise workload to ensure
    successful delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, bringing together people from across the global
    businesses to develop and share ideas and deliver projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • MSc or PhD (desirable)

Experience

  • Carbon Accounting: 4 -5 years minimum (required)
  • Taking a lead role of first point of contact for clients on projects

Remuneration

Pay will be £35,000.00 – £45,000.00 per year, dependent on experience.
