Care Advisor Nurse-Call Center

Patient First is accepting applications for the Care Advisor Nurse-Call Center in the following regions: Richmond VA, Tidewater/Hampton Roads VA, Northern Virginia, Baltimore MD, King of Prussia PA, and Southern NJ. Patient First provides a friendly work environment that promotes a team-oriented philosophy. 

The responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performing comprehensive telephonic patient assessment and following all Patient First Policies and Procedures;
  • Following established clinical protocols/guidelines and providing appropriate patient instructions according to urgency of calls;
  • Complete documentation of all communication with patients, physicians, staff, employer, or insurance companies in the patient medical record;
  • Uses, protects, and discloses patient Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with Heath Insurance Portability and Accountability act (HIPAA) standards;
  • Expediting emergency calls as needed;
  • Helping develop new members of the nurse call center.

Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • High school graduate or equivalent;
  • State license as a registered nurse in good standing;
  • Clinical experience with Patient First a plus;
  • Utilization review and call center experience a plus;
  • Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel (required);
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that requires strong oral, written and interpersonal communication, problem solving, facilitation and analytical skills.
