We are proud of who we are, what we do and how we do it, protecting our world from wildfires.We currently have an opening for a full-time permanent Certified Mechanic based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join our Conair team. This person will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of ground support equipment used in the aviation industry. This includes aircraft tugs, ground power units, golf carts, tractors, hydraulic jacks, vehicles, and other specialized equipment critical to Conair operations. In this role your duties will include the following: ·Equipment Inspection:
– Conduct routine inspections of ground support equipment to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
– Perform pre-use checks to ensure equipment is in optimal condition for operational use. · Maintenance and Repair:
– Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs promptly.
– Collaborate with the maintenance team to address complex technical issues. ·Documentation:
– Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair activities.
– Document inspection results and provide detailed reports on the condition of the equipment. ·Compliance and Safety:
– Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all maintenance activities comply with industry regulations and standards.
– Participate in safety training programs to stay updated on best practices and regulations. ·Inventory Management:
– Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of necessary components for timely repairs.
– Pick up parts from suppliers as needed.Collaboration:
– Collaborate with other maintenance and operational teams to ensure seamless ground support operations.
– Provide technical support to other departments as necessary.We are looking for someone with:
- Technical certification in equipment maintenance preferred. ·
- Proven experience as a GSE Technician or in a similar role within the aviation industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with aviation ground support equipment and their maintenance requirements. ·
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Training/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have mechanical experience (Red Seal)
- Electrical experience is an asset
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Valid Class 5 drivers License
