  • Red Seal Millwright Certification
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Millwright
  • Experience with rigging and overhauling heavy industrial equipment is considered an asset
  • Pneumatics, hydraulics, and laser alignment experience is preferred

Compensation

  • Base payrate of $48.66
  • Extended Health Benefits (after first 40 days)
  • Safety boot allowance

Our headquarters is in Mississauga, ON, but we proudly have nearly 2,600 employees spread across seven manufacturing plants in Quebec, British Columbia, Ontario, and Tennessee.Job Responsibilities:The Mechanical Millwright is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of machinery around the mill.

  • Install, align, adjust, and repair Paper Machine, Converting units and other equipment such as pumps, fans, and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Completes planned and unplanned maintenance activities to support operations
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment on a regular basis to detect irregularities and malfunctions
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine preventive maintenance work on machinery
  • Work systematically and logically to troubleshoot problems and identify the root cause – resolve and put in place measures to prevent reoccurrence
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities including idea generation
  • Participate in training and cross training improvement initiatives including Health and Safety and quality improvement
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Develop and maintain effective relations with all company employees at various organizational levels
