This ‘Outstanding secondary school, located in the vibrant ward of Ladywood, is looking for a scientist to join their science department from September 2024 on a permanent basis.*** Chemistry ECT

*** Chemistry teaching through KS3 and KS4, general science to KS3As a leading school in secondary education, it boasts a robust science department comprising of nine experienced science teachers and two talented Early Career Teachers (ECTs). It is committed to providing an exceptional learning experiences that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.They’re currently recruiting enthusiastic and innovative Chemistry ECTs to contribute to their dynamic science department. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to teach a diverse range of students, from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4, and play a pivotal role in shaping their understanding and appreciation of chemistry.Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive chemistry lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and retention of key chemical concepts.
  • Facilitate hands-on laboratory experiments and practical activities to reinforce theoretical knowledge and promote scientific inquiry.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and review curriculum materials, assessments, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that inspires curiosity, resilience, and a passion for lifelong learning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification in chemistry education.
  • A strong academic background in chemistry or a related field, with a passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring young minds.
  • Experience teaching chemistry at the secondary level, with a track record of student achievement and progress.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
