Monday – Friday, Flexible working pattern.Ref No: HRJOB9919Business Unit: Almac SciencesLocation: Craigavon, Northern Ireland, United KingdomOpen To: Internal and external applicants welcome to apply.The RoleAlmac Sciences are currently recruiting for a talented Chemistry Team Leader to join their Biocatalysis team, based at our Headquarters in Northern Ireland.The post holder will be responsible for leading a team of chemists to deliver all assigned projects to the required quality, quantity, and timelines. They will provide technical leadership on all projects within their team, working closely with colleagues across the department to assist with problem solving.The Team Leader will provide line management for their team members, including performance management and supporting their professional and personal development. They will strive to build an engaged and motivated team.The post holder must have the ability to perform and interpret own routine analysis (eg NMR, HPLC, LCMS, KF), as well as supporting a team of chemists for projects in our manufacturing plant, ensuring clear communication of expectations throughout the process.As part of a busy team within a rapidly growing organisation, operating within a challenging industry you will benefit from the numerous personal and professional developmental opportunities available throughout the Almac group.Essential Criteria· Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Chemistry or closely related discipline.· Experience of development of synthetic processes and transfer to manufacture.· Experience in leading technical aspects of development projects.· Ability to interact and communicate effectively across department boundaries.· Ability to lead and mentor a team of development chemists.Desirable Criteria(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exists)· PhD in a chemistry-based discipline.· Experience in API process development.· Experience in taking a technical leadership role across several projects in parallel.RewardFor the successful candidate, we offer an attractive benefits package which will include a competitive salary, annual bonus, employer pension contributions, 34 days paid annual leave, healthcare benefits and much more.
