In partnership with the Dean the CAO is responsible for developing and implementing excellent standards in the Faculty’s core administrative systems.
The CAO will exhibit strong situational leadership, and should be known for promoting inclusivity, social accountability, professionalism, innovation, respect, and collegiality.
Given the Faculty’s size and the wide range of its activities, the CAO is required to have experience working in an environment that is both complex and culturally diverse.
The CAO should possess: an entrepreneurial style; superior interpersonal and communications skills; a sophisticated understanding of budgets and strategic financial planning; in-depth knowledge and/or a strong appreciation for a broad range of administrative and business services; strong project management and negotiation skills; a dedication to mentorship and stimulating professional growth in themselves and others; and the ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.
The CAO is expected to develop and implement creative ideas and solutions that align with institutional and faculty goals.
The CAO role requires the incumbent to work collaborative and in consultation with key internal and external faculty stakeholders to make decisions that are informed by the needs of the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy’s broader stakeholder community and the University of Toronto and should be inspired to make their mark.
