Guided by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the UNICEF Strategic Plan, 2018–2021, the programme addresses barriers to the full realization of children’s rights, with a focus on the most vulnerable, particularly indigenous and Afrodescendent peoples, migrants and rural populations.
The general objective of the UNICEF programme 20212025 is to support the Government so that, from early childhood to adolescence, opportunities are created in an equitable manner and without violence, allowing children and adolescents to grow and develop fully, with no left one behind.

Purpose for the Job:
The Child Protection Officer reports to the Chief Field Office based in Meteti, Darien for supervision. The Child Protection Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results. He/She prepares, executes, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.

Education:
A university degree in one of the following fields is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field.

Fluency in Spanish is required. Working knowledge in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russiaor a local language is an asset.
