The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a network of interconnected physical devices embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies that collect and exchange data over the internet. This rapidly growing field, influenced by leading companies like Cisco, is revolutionizing industries and daily life by enabling real-time monitoring, analysis, and decision-making, making it an essential and transformative technology for the future. The position will commence January 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval. In addition to having a a PhD degree in Electrical, Software Engineering, or related Engineering discipline, the applicant will provide evidence of research and teaching success within the areas of IoT, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and edge computing. The candidate is expected to work towards developing a strong externally funded research program along with teaching, graduate student supervision, and academic service. The selected applicant will be expected to register as a Professional Engineer in the Province of New Brunswick within the first year of the appointment.
