Bodhi Global Analysis
Position description
Bodhi is seeking an experienced international consultant specialising in the intersections of climate change, migration, and conflict dynamics to join our roster for project-based assignments. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the complex relationships between climate change, human mobility, conflict, security, and development.
This role is fully remote, and open to applicants from all countries.
Key Requirements:
Education:
- PhD in a relevant field such as Climate Security, Peace and Conflict Studies, Environmental Security, Migration Studies, Climate Change Adaptation, or related disciplines
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in research and practice related to climate change, migration, and conflict
- At least 10 years’ experience working on projects for UN agencies and/or international NGOs
- Demonstrated expertise in climate-induced displacement, climate security, conflict-sensitive adaptation, and environmental peacebuilding
- Strong track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or policy papers on climate-conflict-migration nexus
Skills and Expertise:
- In-depth understanding of the complex interactions between climate change, migration, conflict, security, and development
- Proficiency in conflict analysis, climate risk assessment, and mixed-method research approaches
- Experience in designing and implementing climate-sensitive conflict early warning systems and adaptation strategies
- Familiarity with international frameworks such as the Global Compact for Migration, UN Security Council resolutions on climate and security, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse conflict dynamics in the context of climate change
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitating dialogue between diverse groups
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory
- Proficiency in French is highly desirable
- Additional languages, particularly those relevant to conflict-affected regions, are a plus
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel internationally, including to fragile and conflict-affected areas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with sensitivity to cultural and political contexts
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, multi-cultural team in challenging environments
Remuneration:
- Day rate negotiable based on experience and specific project requirements
