Reference: MED198124Applications are invited for the above post based at the University of Nottingham School of Medicine and University Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.The role will comprise ten programmed activities (PAs) split 50:50 between University and NHS Trust activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a high impact research portfolio in their specialty to further strengthen the research themes and establish new collaborations within the School of Medicine.There will be an obligation to contribute to teaching as part of the Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) course and BSc in Medical Physiology and Therapeutics (MPT). It is expected that the appointee will take responsibility for clinical input into one problem-based learning module. In addition, the appointee will participate in dissertation supervision of students from the BMedSci and MPT courses and will be expected to attract and supervise PhD students.The clinical role will involve working in team of clinical consultants, nurses and allied health professionals to deliver outstanding care for patients in Southern Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Further details are provided in the job description.Candidates must have a medical qualification and be registered on the UK General Medical Council Specialty Register for the relevant medical specialty. A PhD, MD or equivalent is essential. A formal teaching qualification and track record in attracting postdoctoral research funding independently is desirable.This post will be offered on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full-time (40 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 32 hours per week).
