Job summaryApplications are invited for one 6-month clinical fellow post in general anaesthesia, working at Charing Cross Hospital. One post is available from February 2025. Start dates after this time will also be considered. There may also be scope for an extension. This post is ideally suited to either an anaesthetist who has completed their Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC) and Primary FRCA and is looking to further their anaesthetic experience prior to securing a specialist or higher training post.The clinical duties would cover the Stage 2 curriculum of the Royal College of Anaesthesia (RCOA). There will also be opportunities to undertake activities that enhance their non-clinical skills such as education, research, and quality improvement and publication preparation.As a Junior Clinical Fellow in anaesthesia, the post-holder will take part in a 1:8 junior registrar on-call rota alongside other trainees. Majority of the post holder’s clinical time will be spent on a variety of surgical lists. The surgical specialties covered at Charing Cross hospital are Neurosurgery (including interventional neuro-radiology), Head and Neck (including robotic assisted surgery), General oncology, Urology (including robotic assisted surgery), ENT, Plastics, Colorectal (including HIPEC), Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology.
