The trust hosts a wide range of services including the NWL Major Trauma Centre, neurosurgery, neurology, stroke services and a level 2 specialist neuro-rehabilitation unit and you will be assessing and treating patients with traumatic brain injury, spinal injuries and those with progressive neurology. You will carry a clinical caseload which will involve assessing and planning patients’ rehabilitation journeys; and providing them with rapid access to intensive neuro-rehabilitation in the acute services. This rapid access to rehabilitation service is a multidisciplinary service which is led by the neuro-rehabilitation consultants. You will also outreach into the community, if required, working closely with the NWL community therapy teams.You need to have an understanding of the pathways available for patients across the rehabilitation journey. Your priority will be optimising patients’ readiness for their rehabilitation journey and will include encouragement of early self-management and patient/family education. You will work closely with our partners in the community to ensure a seamless integrated service for patients with neuro-rehabilitation needs.Main duties of the job
