College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences School of Medicine, Dentistry and NursingClinical Research Fellow in Anaesthesia and Critical CareWe have a number of opportunities for Clinical Research Fellows to undertake agreed research and educational activities working alongside a dynamic group of clinical academics in the West of Scotland on a wide range of projects within Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Critical Care.This role is approximately 50% research and 50% clinical and will initially be for 12 months but may be mutually extended for up to a further two years.The Academic Unit of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Perioperative Medicine exists to promote the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students in anaesthesia, intensive care and perioperative medicine, and to lead the development of new techniques to improve patient care in these areas.These posts would be suitable for an anaesthetic, critical care, emergency or acute medicine trainee (with appropriate airway competencies) and allows protected research time to pursue an area of research interest (with or without progression to higher degree). The position could also offer the opportunity for individuals to undertake a taught programme for example whilst working towards a qualification in medical education, medical ethics, public health, or research.In general, these posts are designed to facilitate the completion of an MD/PhD but this is not mandatory.
