Clinical Scientist – Radiotherapy Physics

This is an opportunity to join the expanding team within Radiotherapy Physics providing clinical scientific and physics services to the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology. The Department has a Managed Services Contract with Erga to provide a comprehensive radiotherapy service to the people of Norfolk. The radiotherapy equipment consists of five Varian TrueBeams, 2 CT-simulators, Eclipse treatment planning system, orthovoltage unit and Bravos High dose-rate brachytherapy afterloading machine. The Department is fully electronically networked and largely paper-free. The department has also recently installed SGRT (VisionRT) across all linacs and CT.The postholder will be expected to work shifts as part of an extended day working arrangement. Some weekend working may be required.The Study Leave Policy, as issued by the NNUH, is to be followed relating to attendance at Courses, etc. Details of this can be provided on request.Main duties of the jobAssisting in all aspects of the radiotherapy physics service i.e. treatment planning, brachytherapy and quality assurance.Contributing to the development of new treatment techniques and assisting with commissioning of new equipment.Participation in research and development projects with a view to presentation.Assisting with teaching and training within the Department.Participation in maintaining the Departmental ISO9001:2015 quality system including review of procedures, writing of work instructions, carrying out audits.About usJoin us at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and be part of a workforce of over 10,000 staff!The NNUH is one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, providing first-class acute care for around one million people, living in Norfolk and surrounding areas.
