Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Haematology

About the RoleThe Clinical Senior Lecturer will contribute to the field of haematology, with particular focus on inherited disorders. They will make contributions to student education and experience through curriculum development and the delivery of teaching activities in the subject area of haematology. Clinical duties involve participation on a pro-rata basis according to consultant rota, moving academic activity where necessary to accommodate this.About YouThe successful candidate will have a PhD in haematology, genetics, or other relevant discipline, a UK-registerable basic medical qualification, and CCT in haematology. A proven track-record of high-quality research, a clear and ambitious plan for future research, and the ability to secure external research funding are essential. Candidates will need the ability to develop and deliver research-led teaching and assessment and successfully supervise PhD students. A wide clinical knowledge in paediatric haematology and a demonstrable knowledge of clinical governance and patient safety matters are crucial.About the InstituteThe Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students.
