The Associate Lead for Simulation will be part of the MBChB Teaching and Learning Academic Team. The role will support the senior leadership team to oversee teaching, learning and assessment using simulation, within our MB ChB and GEM programmes.The associate academic lead should have a good working knowledge of the MBChB programme. They will primarily be responsible for leading, co-ordinating, and implementing simulation-based education, using a variety of high- and low-fidelity approaches. The post holder will take responsibility for the creation and curation of strategy, standards, content, training, and evaluation required to support our students and help educators to deliver high quality simulation-based education. They will work closely with academics, enlisting support from teaching and learning academic leadership as required. They will act as a direct academic liaison for academics within our clinical education providers to support simulation delivery and ensure effective communication. They will be a key member of the assessment team’s emendation group, providing review of simulation-based stations within Clinical Competency Assessments.Applicants are expected to be practicing physicians/surgeons with primary medical qualifications on the specialist register / GP register and with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the speciality. Applicants should have evidence of leadership qualities and experience in design and delivery of teaching and/or assessment using simulation. They should have evidence of involvement in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education.Please ensure that you have approval from your Clinical Director or equivalent when applying for this position.
