We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Senior Lecturer to play a pivotal role in orchestrating the design and execution of pharmacogenomics clinical trials. The inherent complexity of translating research findings into practical clinical applications necessitates a professional who can bridge the gap between scientific discovery and tangible patient benefits, thereby amplifying the impact of our research.Furthermore, you will secure substantial grant funding to fuel research endeavours, produce high-impact publications and drive the dissemination of research findings across reputable scientific journals, solidifying SCMH’s reputation as a leader in the pharmacogenomics landscape. Beyond research, you will occupy a key role in the inception and execution of a new Masters in Pharmacogenomics and Clinical Implementation program. Your leadership in coordinating this program will shape the next generation of pharmacogenomics researchers and experts, ensuring the continued development and application of cutting-edge knowledge in clinical settings.The successful candidate will contribute to clinical care and leading service developments commensurate with clinical speciality under an NHS honorary contract at consultant level.The School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health is one of eight Schools within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow. The School is internationally leading in the areas of research, education (at undergraduate and postgraduate level) and has a wide ranging internationalisation, engagement and enterprise portfolio. Research in the School focusses on the areas of cardiac diseases (including but not limited to ischaemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias and cardio-oncology), metabolic diseases (including but not limited to diabetes and obesity) and vascular diseases (including but not limited to hypertension, cerebrovascular disease and kidney disease), supported by a cross-cutting research theme in cardiovascular data science.
