Often called the “suburbs”, the term fails to describe the multiplicity of urban forms, economic configurations, and cultural expressions that characterize contemporary peri-urban areas. Considering the peripheral city in-and-of-itself will inform a responsive planning and urban design practice that supports and enhances suburban livelihoods that don’t fit the mold of Jane Jacobs’ “ballet of the streets”.Class Schedule:Wednesday 18:00-21:00Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 14 students per sectionSalary: Sessional Lecturer I – $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II – $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term – $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III – $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term – $10,570.02 (inclusive of vacation pay)Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum Qualifications: M.Arch with a MUD or MSc in Urban Planning degree and professional urban design experience preferred.
