Duties

• Develop communication strategies for specific programmes or events
• Public Relations and Social Media management of activities related to climate change, energy, transport and sustainable development
• Develop communication materials in those sectors or on programme activities (brochures, flyers)
• Organize events or workshops in the region,
• Support the preparation of the reporting to the donor (biannual project updates, annual technical reports)
• Coordinate communication and outreach activities with the partners in the region, project partners, the regional GIZ office as well as the Corporate Communication Unit in Germany.

Profile requirements

Qualifications

• University degree in Communication / PR or a discipline in a subject related to climate change, energy or transport, public management or (climate) economics
• Candidate must be a Citizen of St. Lucia or be allowed legally to work in this country.
• Previous work experience for or with development agencies or government is an asset

Professional Experience and required competences.

• At least 4 years’ professional experience in the field of communication (media and PR work, journalism, internal communication, lobbying or similar)
• Experience in event and project management, stakeholder coordination in a climate or development context; Editorial experience, experience in writing articles and press releases
• Experience in developing communication strategies
• Experience in working on a sector related to climate change, sustainable infrastructure (energy, transport) and development is an asset

Languages, applications and other competences

• Fluent English Level. German and Spanish are an asset
• Excellent organizational, advisory and management skills
• Ability to work in a multicultural team and with individual independence/ initiative
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to acquire one
• Willingness to work to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
