The Communications Assistant will assist the Country Representative (CR), the Senior Communications Assistant (CSA), and other Mexico team members in the design, development, and edition of communication products in different formats, that will be delivered and disseminated in different channels and purposes, in addition, to accomplish the successful implementation of the national projects with counterparts and donors, to reach deadlines of delivery, to implement the Communication Strategy for the country, and in line with the global GGGI’s institutional guidelines and procedures. 

Purpose: 

  • Support the implementation of GGGI Mexico’s Communication Strategy (and Social Media Strategy) by developing high-quality communication products.
  • Support the development of high-quality communication materials and deliveries reaching deadlines properly, particularly regarding GCF and UKPact projects, and bring support to the partnership initiatives with subnational and national governments.
  • Provide new creative approaches to institutional communications, considering different formats and channels, and supporting GGGI-Mexico staff in providing solutions to communications requirements.

    Delivery:

    Communication strategic approach:

  • Support CR and CSA in generating/designing communications materials and activities to boost national GGGI’s brand.
  • Graphic and audiovisual design
  • Design postcards for social media, infographics, and mailing.
  • Capture and edit photos from events and GGGI’s work in the field.
  • Frequently supports the SharePoint update.
  • Video edition for multi-channels.
  • Editorial editing of documents for GGGI’s projects.
  • Design of PPT presentations and internal communications materials.
  • Quotation and designing of merchandising products.
  • Design and sending of the newsletter.

Digital platforms:

  • Create and design innovative content (infographics, videos, gifs, etc.) for social media based on given guidelines to support specific activities or campaigns within the Communications Strategy.
  • Participate actively in content planning for GGGI Mexico digital platforms and offer ideas to improve our social media metrics.
  • Support the preparation and execution of social media plans and campaigns.
  • Design social media posts according to the social media content calendar.
  • Frequently supports the CSA in posting and managing social media platforms using social media tools for scheduling and management.
  • Assist in the coverage of live and online events by taking photographs, recording interviews, or posting content on our social media channels in coordination with the CSA.
  • Support the CSA in reporting social media trends.
  • Support the CSA in the integration, design, and sending of a quarterly newsletter.
  • Occasionally supports the CSA in updating the web page.

Media and Events:

  • Frequently supports CSA updating databases of media.
  • Design communication products for events.
  • Photo and video coverage in events.

Requirements Qualifications:

  • At least an Undergraduate degree in Communication, Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Graphic design, Marketing, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience working in communications areas, preferably, experience working in institutional/social communication with institutions and/or working in the integration of multimedia communication products for organizations (public or private) or marketing agencies.
  • Advanced skill level in graphic design, editorial design, and video editing programs. Adobe Creative Cloud preferred (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Adobe Audition, Lightroom, After Effects).
  • Experience in managing social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), tools for its management, and content generation. Knowledge related to boosting organic and paid campaigns is a plus.
  • Proved experience in designing posts for social media, infographics, and editing videos and documents.
  • Interest and knowledge of sustainable development, climate change, and green growth.
  • Excellent Spanish knowledge and good English writing and speaking skills are required.
  • Must be a Mexican citizen, or a foreigner holding a valid Work Visa
  • Ability to work well under pressure and have a flexible approach to tasks given.
