JOB SUMMARY
MedGlobal is seeking a passionate and creative Communications Coordinator to join our Communications team. This role is essential for driving the organization’s brand presence through engaging content creation, social media management, and compelling storytelling. The ideal candidate is a talented content creator, skilled in social media strategy, video and graphic editing, and capturing human-interest stories that highlight the impact of MedGlobal’s work.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Content Creation:
- Develop, write and design high-quality, compelling content that reflects the voice and mission of MedGlobal.
- Ensure all content aligns with MedGlobal’s brand guidelines and communication strategy.
- Social Media Management:
- Manage and grow MedGlobal’s presence across all major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Develop and execute social media campaigns that increase engagement, followers, and awareness of MedGlobal’s humanitarian efforts.
- Monitor trends, performance metrics, and audience insights to refine and improve content strategies.
- Video/Graphic Editing:
- Produce, edit, and deliver high-quality videos and graphics that communicate MedGlobal’s impact in the field.
- Collaborate with the field teams to capture on-the-ground footage, interviews, and stories to create engaging multimedia content.
- Ensure all multimedia content meets professional standards and is optimized for different platforms (social media, website, presentations).
- Story Capture:
- Work closely with MedGlobal’s field teams to identify, capture, and share powerful stories of the individuals and communities we serve.
- Interview beneficiaries, volunteers, and medical staff to create human-centered stories that resonate with donors, partners, and the public.
- Develop visual and written content that amplifies these stories and demonstrates the impact of MedGlobal’s work.
- Collaborative Engagement:
- Collaborate with the Communications, Fundraising, and Program teams to develop and implement strategies to engage new and existing audiences.
- Assist in the content, planning and production of communication materials, such as brochures, reports, and presentations.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance MedGlobal’s engagement with key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and partners.
- Supervising Communications Team:
- Supervise the communications team, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality content creation and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Website Editing and Management:
- Oversee and maintain MedGlobal’s website, ensuring content is regularly updated, engaging, and aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
- Edit and publish web pages, blog posts, and news updates to reflect current humanitarian efforts and MedGlobal’s impact.
- Optimize web content for search engines (SEO) to increase visibility and user engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Commitment to MedGlobal’s mission and values, with a passion for humanitarian work.
- 3+ years experience in communications, including social and traditional media.
- Proficiency in content creation, social media management, and multimedia editing.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
- Skilled in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma).
- Experience managing websites through WordPress.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure across cultures and time zones.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in humanitarian relief or a related field.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic, Spanish, or other languages is a plus.
