Turn on your Island Charm… Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach is currently looking for a Communications Coordinator to join our team!
Purpose:
To manage and enhance all internal and external communication for Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach Homeowners Association, as directed by the Board of Directors. This role facilitates communication about Association matters and highlights lifestyle events and activities, as well as promoting the Food & Beverage operations. It includes leading content creation and planning for social media, supporting senior management, and collaborating with department heads to align communications efforts.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Communication Development and Management:
Serve as the communication liaison between the Management Company and residents, ensuring clear dissemination of Community policies, Governing Documents, and guidelines.
Foster community cohesion by educating residents, sharing critical updates, and directing homeowner concerns to appropriate departments.
Proofread, edit, and implement consistent communication materials that align with Margaritaville brand standards, including email communication, social media content, and community publications like Tiki Talk.
Support crisis communication efforts as needed.
Social Media Administration:
Administer and manage content for closed Association Facebook groups, promoting HOA information, events, and activities.
Monitor group interactions, enforce Board-approved guidelines, and ensure adherence to community rules.
Develop and execute organic social media content and campaigns to increase community engagement and participation.
Compose and send weekly communications highlighting lifestyle events and restaurant menus.
Content Creation and Digital Expertise:
Create engaging visual and written content using tools like Canva, Photoshop, and Mailchimp.
Stay updated on trends across social media platforms and recommend strategies to optimize effectiveness.
Collaborate with the website development team to maintain accurate and relevant website content.
Community Representation:
Act as a brand ambassador for Latitude Margaritaville, promoting the community lifestyle and values.
Technical competencies:
Education/Training:
AA Degree in PR/Media/Communications; bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred), or equivalent experience
A minimum of one to three (1-3) years of previous similar work experience as a Communication Coordinator/Specialist is required.
Proven experience managing communications for residential communities, HOAs, or similar organizations is a plus.
Skills/Applications:
Social Media: Facebook administration, content creation, scheduling tools (e.g., Loomly, Hootsuite).
Marketing: Mailchimp, Canva, basic photography/videography, and digital image editing software (Photoshop CS/Elements)
Website Management: Content updates and strategy alignment.
Project Management Applications: (Trello, Monday).
Office Tools: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat.
Knowledge/Abilities:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.
Expertise in internal and external communication, including content proofreading and editing for clarity, grammar, tone, and consistency.
Meticulous attention to detail in developing and managing communication materials.
Skilled in handling sensitive communication issues with clarity, calm professionalism, and a focus on relationship-building.
Commitment to community engagement, fostering cohesion, and enhancing resident satisfaction.
Strong understanding of brand management, ensuring communication aligns with the enthusiastic representation and promotion of the Margaritaville brand and community lifestyle.
Proficient in website management and crafting content strategies that align with organizational goals.
Hands-on experience with tools like Mailchimp (email marketing), Canva (content creation), and social media management platforms.
Skilled in basic photo editing (cropping, straightening, color correction); familiarity with Photoshop layer comps/masks is a plus.
Fundamental knowledge of image file format best practices for content creation and optimal distribution across various platforms.
Proficiency in creating, managing, and maintaining social media content, especially on Facebook.
Proven ability to create engaging social media campaigns that foster community participation and adhere to best practices.
Experience in growing an online presence and maintaining high levels of engagement.
Proactive in identifying communication opportunities, managing content calendars, and staying ahead of trends in community engagement.
Familiarity with HOA policies, community guidelines, governing documents, and homeowner concerns, ensuring effective and empathetic communication.
Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across departments and with senior management.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and ensuring consistency.
Adaptability in adjusting communication strategies based on feedback, performance metrics, and evolving community needs.
Special Requirements:
Required to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.
Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone, email and in person.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call availability for crisis communication.
Driving when necessary.

Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking and occasional climbing.
Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms.
Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
Must be able to work in small and confined spaces for extended periods of time.
Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
Compensation/Work Schedule
$20.00 – $22.00 per hour
30+h/week (Mon-Fri, 9-5)
As a full-time associate, you will be eligible for full comprehensive benefits to include your choice of multiple medical plans, dental, and Vision. In addition, you will be eligible for time off benefits, paid holidays, and a 401k with company match.
Occasional travel may be required to attend training and other company functions.
