  1. Manager – Community of Practice

    ICRISAT seeks applications for the position of “Manager – Community of Practice” who will have the responsibility to manage the program component related to the Resilience Community of Practice and manage the communication needs of the Mali Resilience Challenge Fund Program (RCF) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).The RCF program intends to establish a Resilience Community of Practice (RCOP) that includes USAID and non-USAID-funded programs working within the Mali Resilience Focus Zone (RFZ) in Central Mali. Using USAID layering, sequencing, and integrating (LSI) techniques, the RCoP will stimulate collaboration among Humanitarian and Development Assistance activities for the purpose of enhanced development impact, cost effectiveness, monitoring, evaluation and learning. This is a nationally recruited position and will be based in Bamako, Mali.

    ILRI works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world.     Duties and Responsibilities:

    ·        Mobilize and forge engagement of members Resilience Community of Practice in the Program zone of influence.

    ·        Develop and oversee implementation of resilience community of practice annual work plan and budget.

    ·        Develop and monitor the RCoP collaboration metrics in collaboration with members of the COP.

    ·        Oversee Program communication and knowledge management, and management of the COP.

    ·        Lead program knowledge management and learning activities in collaboration with the program M&E expert.

    ·        Lead the Knowledge Management Plan of the Program. Participate in the development of program products e.g.  Monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, calendar, posters, exhibits and other spin-offs, editorial support for important documents, VIP event support, E-news)

    ·        Participate in the design and administer the program digital platform.

    ·        Ensure program marking and branding requirements are met.

    ·        Take the lead in all program events preparation, implementation, and reporting.

    ·        Develop program media strategy for advocacy.

    ·        Develop and oversee new and innovative and creative content management strategy for web and multimedia.

    ·        Support the development of innovative social media strategies and digital products to reach key audiences.

    ·        Provide communication support to the Program including but not limited to presentations, photo films, strategic and risk-based communication plans.

    ·        Provide high quality editing and formatting for all program related documents.

    ·        Support program staff in organizing and managing seminars, workshops, press conferences and field visits as required.

    ·        Provide relevant expert services to the program and implementing partners on reporting and

    communications and act as a facilitator or trainer.

    ·        Provide through progress reporting continuous analysis of the achievements, facilitate project review and evaluation.

    ·        Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

     Requirements

     1.      Master’s degree in communications, knowledge management, or project management with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

    2.      Knowledge in Community of Practice building.

    3.      Knowledge in resilience development.

    4.      Knowledge of animal health, animal production, and forage crop production.

    5.      Knowledge of establishing local conventions.

    6.      Be familiar with USAID’ reporting system is an advantage.

    7.      Show passion and enthusiasm about peacebuilding.

    8.      Be motivated to contribute to support in the fight against poverty and inequality.

    9.      Ability to communicate with different stakeholders and target groups.

    10.   Demonstrate ability to structure and plan activities to ensure results are met.

    11.   Ability to take rational and timely decisions.

    12.   Good oral and written communication skills in French and English.

    13.   Good skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet, etc.).

    14.   Speak fluently French and at least one local language.

    General:

    This position is at job grade 9 and is a 12 months (1 year) contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
