We are proud of the key role we play in ensuring the continued success and improvement of processes within CWB Group.In our supportive environment, the Regulatory Processing team is looking for a Compliance Analyst to assist in ensuring CWB Financial Group operates in compliance with policies and procedures by checking front-line activities, measuring and reporting on compliance and risk areas, and identifying opportunities and actions for improvement in processes and internal controls.What you’ll be doing

  • Work with operations management in branches and corporate office to maintain effective risk management practices, and to improve in areas of opportunity as they relate to regulatory compliance.
  • Provide reporting and analysis to the Regulatory Compliance department to assist in their efforts to monitor the implementation of effective risk management practices and various specific risks such as noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Liaise and provide compliance support to various internal business partners and branches.
  • Ensure relevant regulatory compliance program activities align with CWB’s corporate policy and strategic direction.
  • Assist in managing and overseeing key elements of the business-level AML/ATF compliance program.
  • Participate in regulatory review remediation activities as needed; e.g. identified by FINTRAC, OSFI and/or Internal Audit.
  • Work with Regulatory Compliance to build a self-assessment program for CWB Group affiliates (e.g. CWT, CWB Wealth Management).
  • Assess account openings and transactions to ensure compliance with CWB’s Corporate policy as it relates to legislation and regulations.
  • Work with Regulatory Compliance to effectively manage risk, and strengthen internal controls and support to on AML/ATF related activities.
  • Conduct assessments of account opening and transactions to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Analyze results of self-assessments to identify areas of opportunity to improve compliance.
  • Assists with continuous improvement of programs, processes, policies and tools to meet regulatory/compliance requirements, industry best practices and/or achieve organizational goals.

  • Data skilled & analytically savvy. Demonstrated comfort with the effective utilization of data analytics and related technology-driven processes in support of risk and controls monitoring and testing. MS Excel master.
  • Efficient & effective. Proven organization & ability to manage multiple monitoring and testing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Results focused: Build and execute a business plan to achieve targets while collaborating and respecting the capabilities and contributions of all team members.
  • Communication. You are clear & concise – both in written & verbal communications/presentations.
  • Organization and time management. You have the knack to effectively manage several priorities simultaneously and a keen eye for details.
  • Technologically inclined. Able to quickly learn and effectively use new applications (e.g. FircoSoft, Verafin, etc.)

Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from

  • Three years banking experience.
  • Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) applications and internet searches.
  • Experience preparing and delivering written and oral communications.
  • Experience with banking systems, including understanding of policies and procedures as well as financial products and services.
