The consultant will develop training packages for physicians and nurses and will deliver 2 training of trainers (one for physicians and one for nurses).

The process should be participatory, bringing together multiple stakeholders from the Ministry of Health and Population and academia and pediatric professional bodies as available. UNICEF will coordinate with national stakeholders to hold the online meetings and face-to-face activities in Egypt.

Conditions of work:
The consultant will work remotely. The consultant will travel to Egypt to facilitate the final workshop for endorsement of the guidelines (5 working days) and deliver training of trainers workshops (10 working days). UNICEF will cover plane tickets and daily subsistence allowance for in-country work, as per UNICEF’s standard rates for Egypt.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
-Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in medicine/pharmacy/public health/nutrition or health related field, with postgraduate degree in Public Health/nutrition/paediatrics or other health or nutrition related field.
-Technical background and skills: At least 5 years of considerable experience in working with the health care systems in the field of child malnutrition and childhood diseases, and participation in the development of health care guidelines especially in wasting management. Experience in developing training manuals, and providing training to health care workers.
-Range and depth of relevant experience: field experience of developing/running wasting management programmes is an asset. Familiarity with the health system in Egypt is an asset. Previous experience in UN agencies (especially UNICEF) and/or International Non-government Organisations is an asset.
-Professional Fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset. Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
