Micromentor’s business model functions as part nonprofit and part social-enterprise, with revenue coming both from grants, and our paid B2B Mentorship-as-a-Service and corporate employee engagement offerings.

The Business to Business (B2B) Lead Generation Specialist will work directly with the Growth Marketing Manager, Director of Product & Growth and will work closely with the Director of Programs & Innovations, the Business Development Manager the Executive Director, and cross functionally with all other Micromentor teams to ensure Micromentor meets its revenue goals. We are looking for someone who is interested in forming a longer partnership with Micromentor and potentially continuing work beyond the initial consultancy.

Purpose / Project Description:

MicroMentor is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional to manage our top-of-funnel lead generation efforts. As a B2B Lead Generation Contractor, you will be responsible for creating and nurturing new leads for our B2B Mentoring-as-a-Service / Employee Engagement offerings. Your role will focus on initiating and engaging in conversations with potential leads, primarily through LinkedIn, to create opportunities that reflect genuine interest from prospects. This position will play a crucial role in expanding MicroMentor’s footprint as a social enterprise by building and managing a robust pipeline of potential clients.

Consultant Activities:

  • Lead Generation and Outreach
    • Manage existing contact lists and conduct outreach through LinkedIn to engage potential leads in conversations.
    • Implement and refine content strategy to optimize the consultant’s LinkedIn profile for effective outreach.
    • Create new top-of-funnel lead generation opportunities through strategic networking and content creation.
  • Pipeline Management
    • Track and manage the status of leads as they move through the funnel, from initial outreach to conversations started and eventual opportunities created.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
  • Content Creation and Strategy
    • Develop and curate content that resonates with target audiences and supports lead generation efforts.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure alignment of messaging and content strategy.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with existing marketing and revenue teams to ensure communication and content alignment based on current strategies.
    • Participate in regular meetings to share insights, progress, and strategize on improving lead generation efforts.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Provide regular updates on lead generation activities, including metrics on outreach, engagement, and conversations started.
    • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improving lead generation strategies.

Consultant Deliverables:

The Consultant will:

  • Conduct outreach to a minimum of 1,000 potential leads through LinkedIn. – Month 1
  • Establish baseline metrics for connection and response rates. – Month 1
  • Achieve a connection rate of at least 20% from initial outreach efforts with a goal of generating a minimum of 20 qualified opportunities (defined as leads expressing genuine interest and willingness to learn more about MicroMentor’s services) in the first 3 months. – Month 2
  • Develop and implement at least 10 new content pieces to support outreach efforts. – 45 day mark
  • Report on sales funnel conversion. – Bi-weekly
  • Provide a comprehensive report on lead generation activities, including insights and recommendations for future strategies. – Monthly (beginning month 2)

Timeframe / Schedule:

Initial contract: January 20, 2024 – March 31, 2025; monthly thereafter

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 2 years experience in Business Development or Fundraising
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to generate qualified grant and earned-income leads
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
