What Is the Opportunity?

Business Performance Analytics teams at Travelers leverage descriptive and diagnostic analytics and business knowledge to identify actionable insights and influence strategy. As a Consultant, Business Performance Analytics, you will use data and analytics to conduct analyses to quantify insights and identify opportunities. You will report, monitor, analyze data and trends, and communicate business results to team. You will begin to build business partnerships and understanding of the business.

What Will You Do?

  • Use descriptive and diagnostic analysis to identify business trends.

  • Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis and create presentations using data visualization and storytelling to communicate business results.

  • Monitor data to recognize patterns and identify possible trends.

  • Support Proofs of Concept to inform business strategies.

  • Work with data towards the ultimate design required to meet business requests.

  • Monitor business results to determine if desired results are achieved, with guidance.

  • Complete reasonability and validation tests with direction.

  • May participate on projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Economics, Business, or related.

  • Two years of analytics or related experience working in the P&C industry.

  • Working knowledge of SQL

  • Working knowledge of data warehouse environment

  • Working knowledge of Guidewire ClaimCenter

  • Exposure and some working knowledge of business intelligence tools.

  • Developing understanding of business functions, operations, analytic functions and/or product of supported business line.

  • Knowledge of descriptive analytic processes, including data quality, data reporting, and data retrieval.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present technical data and trends.

  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with business partners.

  • Analytical mindset.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education required.
