We are seeking an ambitious, highly skilled and creative psychologist to move into a Consultant Clinical Psychologist post, here at Bath Centre for Pain Services (BCPS). The post holder will join the wider leadership team within the role of Psychology Lead across the Bath National Pain Service.BCPS is a national specialist service, providing rehab for people of all ages who have complex chronic pain. Patients often have additional difficulties including neurodiversity, mental health diagnoses and complex medical histories.BCPS is a truly innovative setting, providing a uniquely interdisciplinary approach, where psychological approach informs care delivery. BCPS has a strong evidence-based focus, high research output and regularly presents at international conferences.This role provides a chance to join a team already embracing psychological approaches, while further steering and developing psychologically informed services across the lifespan. This post offers the unique opportunity to work with people of all ages. We are seeking a candidate with a high level of experience in working with children and young people with complex needs and with experience of addressing complex safeguarding across agencies.The BCPS team is highly functioning and values staff wellbeing, learning and development. There is a weekly clinical development for all staff, which the post holder would contribute to and shape, regular clinical supervision and established training for new staff.Main duties of the job1. Ensure the evidence based clinical model is delivered in an age appropriate way topeople across the lifespan2. To provide clinical work, assessment, and interventions to people with chronic pain ofall ages as appropriate within a lifespan service (including children, young adults,adults and older adults)3. As a Clinician with experience in children, adolescents and young adults ensure thatthe team have the skills needed for lifespan work with a particular responsibility forchildren, adolescents and young people.4. To take on a leadership position with full understanding of true Interdisciplinary Teamworking5. To manage safeguarding & risk along with the Lead Nurse and Consultant Doctorsand Consultant Therapist having full knowledge of safeguarding and risk processesfor people of all ages.6. To be an active member of the Bath Centre for Pain Services management team andwork to ensure all Key Performance Indicators (activity, mandatory training andappraisals) are met.7. To provide professional leadership to Psychologists working in all services in theBath National Pain Centre – to be actively involved in the recruitment and retention ofpsychology staff and ensure appropriate supervision and CPD is provided.8. With the Therapy Lead ensure an appropriate line management and supervisionstructure in the BCPS.9.
