We are looking to expand our clinical team for Dermatology services by recruiting two consultants.Dermatology is a very busy specialty, providing care to around 550 adult and paediatric patients per week, working alongside experienced colleagues across multi-disciplinary teams with the goal to provide the best care for our patients. We are the best performing Dermatology service within Greater Manchester and this is achieved through great management, support from other services and dedication to providing excellent patient care to our community.The Dermatology department are very proud of the services we provide to our patients and we would be keen to hear from enthusiastic applicants who want to help us keep providing excellent care and improving the services we offer.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will manage their own clinical workload and cover all types of dermatological conditions for two week wait, new and follow up patients and ward referrals, as well as performing minor operations and being an integral part of the sector MDT meetings.There will be opportunities to play a vital role in service development as well as educating and developing staff within the department as we look to grow the services we offer as well as expanding the range of roles within the department.About usThe service is located within the centre of the hospital site in a dedicated department. The department offers seven clinic rooms, two theatres and a phototherapy unit. • MRCP or equivalent

• Broad knowledge and experience of medical and surgical dermatology including management of acute dermatoses

• A particular interest and expertise in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment

• Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Dermatology
• Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients
• Ability to offer an expert opinion on the full range of dermatological problems

Teaching/trainingEssential

• Ability to work with and supervise non-career grade staff, registrars and specialist nurses
• Ability to teach clinical skills
• Ability to manage and lead strategic developments in service delivery
