Consultant for Baseline research to identify water stewardship opportunities for aquaculture production

WWF-Myanmar is now inviting applications for a Consultant for Baseline research to identify water stewardship opportunities for aquaculture production with home-homebased and frequent travel to sites within 3 months working duration.

Objectives

The objective of the assignment is to conduct a baseline research on water stewardship opportunities for aquaculture product production and aquaculture farms; and to provide recommendations on water use efficiency and pollution reduction practice for those sectors.

Scope of work/ Major responsibility

The consultant is expected to 1) review existing reports, policies, and data, 2) identify key stakeholders (aquaculture farmers and processors), 3) make field assessment to identify baseline on water use, wastewater management, and current related practices, 4) analyze international best practices, 5) recommend possible measures to promote efficient water usage and wastewater management and 6) develop a comprehensive report.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in environmental science, water resource management, aquaculture, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in water stewardship, aquaculture, or environmental management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of water management practices in aquaculture or similar sectors.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Experience working with multi-stakeholder projects, particularly in the aquaculture sector, is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical skills, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Working proficiency in English.
