An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full time (10 PA’s) substantive Consultant General Paediatricians to join our Weston-based team at UHBW. We are seeking enthusiastic, passionate and dynamic individuals who will enhance our established team of Consultant Paediatricians. You will take part in the general workload of the department and play a vital role in the delivery of healthcare for Children and Young People across North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We are looking for a colleague who is driven, enthusiastic and adaptable to join our team. Being a flexible team-player is essential. Expertise in an area of special interest to complement those already available in the Department is welcome. Weston-Super-Mare and its surroundings are a wonderful place to live, with beautiful countryside, easy access to Bristol, and direct train services to London, Taunton and Exeter.Main duties of the jobThe postholder will be an integral part of the General Paediatric service across Weston and Bristol, delivering the short-stay assessment and ambulatory care service at the Seashore Centre weeks as the named service consultant, as well as contributing to the General Paediatrics acute inpatient service in Bristol (likely to be 2 weeks and 2 further weekends a year, TBC) and the trust wide Safeguarding consultant service also based in Bristol (4 weeks a year).Rapid access clinics and routine general paediatric clinics will be held mostly in Weston-Super-Mare.
