We are looking to appoint a whole time Substantive Consultant Oncologist in Head & Neck Cancers to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Weston Park Cancer Centre, with outreach clinics within the SYBND cancer alliance.Our patients are not numbers they are individuals, Proud to make a Difference is not just our slogan but the way we do things. Applicants interested in working in other cancer sites are requested to contact the Clinical Director to discuss this further.Main duties of the jobYou would be part of an ambitious and friendly team within one of the UK’s leading Cancer Centres. We have an impressive track record of leading clinical research and the developments of ne treatments. We are part of a progressive cancer network which is driven to improve outcomes and experience for patients living with cancer across South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire.The hospital is home to busy inpatient and outpatient units, ahemotherapy day case unit, a large radiotherapy suite, and research centre. We also provide outpatient services within off-site clinical facilities and our neighbouring District General Hospital, as well as deliver SACT within five additional day case units across the region.The appointee will join established multidisciplinary teams. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in our acute oncology and on-call services rota. The on-call frequency is currently 1:24 which equates to 0.111 PA.The successful candidate will work according to the terms and conditions of the national consultant contractThe person appointed will take their equal share in providing emergency cover and will be required to cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
