  • oFull and specialist registration (with a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration/ or entry into the specialist register within 6 months of the interview)
  • oApplicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
  • oApplicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
  • oMRCP/ FRCP or evidence of equivalent qualification and/or experience
  • CESR

Desirable

  • oHigher research degree (MD, PhD, MD (Res))
  • oAccredited Educational Supervisor
  • oOther qualifications which might enhance the provision of the service e.g. Teaching qualification, management qualification

  • oHave experience in the management of resources
  • oEvidence of experience in Specialist Palliative Care in different settings
  • oExperience of teaching a variety of styles and to various audiences
  • oAble to take responsibility of service without direct supervision
