This is a newly configured Consultant post. The remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and continuing to develop ophthalmic care for paediatric patients. The post holder will also be expected to provide care for motility related presentations in both adult and paediatric patients. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff (medical and non-medical).Main duties of the jobThe post will be primarily based at King’s College Hospital’s Denmark Hill site though there is potential to support any of King’s sites as appropriate. There may also be the requirement to support clinics an University Hospital Lewisham and ROP screening at any of the sites Kings cover (e.g. Kings at Denmark Hill, The Princess Royal University Hospital, University Hospital Lewisham, Queen Elizabeth Woolwich) the and to cover leave. Together with other colleagues, to provide a high quality care service to patients. This includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the Care Group.2. Shared responsibility with other colleagues for providing 24 hours, 7 days a week cover for the Unit on a rota basis.
