Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a General Medical Council (GMC) Sponsor employer.This opportunity is open toUK based and International candidates.We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to work in our well-established Children & Young People Services Community Team in South West Surrey. We are offering a £15,000 recruitment premia for this post plus other benefits!The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical input and leadership to our Children and Young Peoples Services Community Team, working alongside a multidisciplinary team in line with New Ways of Working and our i-THRIVE framework.Main duties of the jobYou’ll have the opportunity of working within a well-established and friendly team of highly skilled professionals who are passionate and committed to the care needs of our children and young people.You would be responsible for providing a diagnostic, assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents with mental health problems within a multi-disciplinary approach to care, promoting high-quality multidisciplinary working and relationships. On average, a full-time consultant would complete 2-3 monthly assessments and holds a caseload of approximately 60 in our service. Patients have a consultant review after 6 weeks of treatment in the team and then every 2-3 months.You will participate in an emergency out-of-hours rota, providing back-up for junior doctors and professionals in assessing young people seen in A& E.Our Offer:

Qualifications
Essential

  • MB BS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
  • Full medical registration with a license to practice.
  • Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act(or within 6 to 12 months of the time of interview/assessment) or equivalent

Desirable

  • Relevant higher degree, e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Management qualification or evidence of an interest in developing leadership skills.

Eligibility
Essential

  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months

Desirable

  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within three months of appointment
  • In good standing with GMC concerning warnings and conditions on practice
