Hywel Dda Radiology is looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated Consultant Radiologist with special interest in Nuclear Medicine to join a progressive team of consultants and contribute to the on-going development of radiological services across our Health Board.Main duties of the jobThis appointment is Health Board wide, and the successful candidate would join the radiology team to provide general radiology and nuclear medicine. The candidate will contribute to the wider workload of the department subject to job plan discussions, including general radiology, second on call rotas, teaching of radiology trainees, reporting Radiographers, undergraduate students, and other hospital staff. Flexible working arrangements will be considered and discussions as to individual requirements and how they could be accommodated are welcomed.About usHywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Qualifications
Essential

  • Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
  • On Specialist Register/SpR due to obtain relevant CCT/CESR(CP) within 6 months of interview
  • FRCR or equivalent qualification
  • IRMER/ARSAC Licence in Nuclear Medicine

Desirable

  • Relevant Higher Degree e.g. MD PhD MSc MRCP

Clinical Experience
Essential

  • Broad based experience in General Radiology
  • NM Istope supervision and reporting Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge and participation in CPD Competence and expertise in General Radiology

Desirable

  • Experience of NHS Wider experience, research and training in providing sub specialty service
  • Evidence of above average performance
  • Additional clinical qualification(s)
  • PET/CT reporting

Clinical Governance
Essential

  • Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice

Desirable

  • Knowledge of risk management

Research
Essential

  • Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence so as to improve clinical outcomes

Desirable

  • Evidence of initiating, progressing and concluding research projects with publication
  • Research degree

Teaching
Essential

  • Evidence of organising programmes and teaching medical students and junior doctors

Desirable

  • Organisation of further teaching programmes in medical education
  • Training the Trainers experience

Management
Essential

  • Knowledge of the management and structure of the NHS

Desirable

  • Evidence of management training
