This post is for a Consultant Physician in and Rheumatology with a General internal medicine component.. This post holder will have joint General Medical and Rheumatology responsibilities.The job is a full-time post comprising 10 Programmed Activities (PAs). Applicants who wish to work less than full time are very welcome to apply.The post holder will demonstrate a firm commitment to clinical governance, clinical audit and risk management by the development of systems to ensure the highest standards of patient care are achieved and maintained.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of all patients under their team. The appointee will be sharing with medical, nursing and administrative colleagues, responsibility for the day-today management of Rheumatic diseases.   • Ability to provide expert clinical opinion across a wide range of problems within General Medicine.

Academic Achievements Essential criteria

  • Ability to use research outcomes in clinical practice
  • Experience of conducting clinical audit

Key Skills Essential criteria

  • Capable of organising and prioritising work effectively
  • Able to form part of a team and recognise the importance of team working
  • Ability to work under pressure
