UNICEF Refugee Response Office in Poland is recruiting Content Creation and Multimedia Consultant who, under the guidance and direct supervision of the Communication Specialist, will assist the UNICEF Refugee Response Office in Poland communication team in  development and production of multimedia content to increase media reach and visibility effectiveness, web-related activities and creating and integrating content creation strategy and plan into the RRO Communications Strategy, where relevant.

Major tasks and responsibilities”

Content creation:

  • Proactively create multimedia content (stories, photos, audio, video, infographics, etc.) in collaboration with the Communication Team and UNICEF programme officers, and adapt it for media pitching and web use.
  • Coordinate the collection of photos, videos, and storytelling content by producing concept notes, video scripts, and content missions, and by working with photographers to meet the office’s needs and ensure appropriate donor recognition.
  • Adapt multimedia assets from the Regional Office and/or Headquarters for the local audience, where relevant.
  • Support the preparation of multimedia, graphic, and textual materials for all key office events.
  • Create multimedia materials according to the office’s needs.
  • At least 30 multimedia stories created.
  • A curated collection of photos and videos showcasing UNICEF Refugee Response Office programs in Poland prepared.
  • Multimedia content translated into Polish and Ukrainian, as relevant.
  • Donor visibility requirements regularly tracked and incorporated into multimedia content, as relevant.
  • Consent release forms obtained for photos, videos, and stories created or overseen by the consultant, and an archive of these forms created.
  • Ongoing documentation of lessons learned, challenges, and good practices in content creation.

Webpage update and content management:

  • Manage the unicef.org/eca/poland webpage (uploading content, improving design).
  • Review photo and video content on WeShare platform and update captions as necessary.
  • Generate and analyse reports on web traffic using UNICEF’s tools.
  • Multimedia content uploaded to the webpage in a timely manner.
  • Content on WeShare platform reviewed and updated.
  • Monthly reports on improvements.

Digital strategy and planning:

  • Develop a content creation strategy.
  • Develop and continuously update a content creation plan.
  • Content creation strategy developed and implemented.
  • Content creation plan developed, continuously updated, and integrated into the RRO Communications Strategy.
  • Monthly reports on the implementation of the content strategy and plan.
  • Other work assignments may be assigned by the supervisor at no additional cost.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, multimedia, marketing, social science, communication or a related field;
  • A minimum of 3 of relevant professional experience in journalism, content creation, or production and managing of multimedia content;
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset. 
  • Proven professional experience with graphic design, ability to create designs in open-source graphic design programmes, such as Canva;
  • Proven professional experience in copywriting and storytelling;
  • Experience in video production and editing;
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work effectively under pressure;
  • Excellent communication, writing, planning, and summarizing skills;
  • Proven ability to work independently;
  • Knowledge of refugee-related topics is considered an asset;
  • Experience with website management is considered an asset.
  • Previous UNICEF, UN and/or INGO experience in a similar role is an asset.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian is required. 
  • Proficient knowledge of English and Polish, both verbal and written, is required.
