About the role
The role of the Content Officer (Web and Digital) is to ensure our digital channels, primarily the website, and systems ultimately support the University’s marketing and communications strategy. This particular role will focus on content development projects to include progressing our ambitions for greater levels of personalisation and maintaining digital systems that support our web functionality. A key consideration of this role will involve managing the customer journey through our website and integrating relevant CTA points with our CRM system to deliver a seamless experience.
The role has a strong emphasis on student recruitment, customer experience and brand promotion, and requires an organised, influential individual who is prepared to champion best practice in relation to our content principles and their application through our digital channels. The ability to coordinate with wider teams to implement projects and support with activating our marketing campaigns strategy is essential.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
Experience
- Experience and demonstrable success in a similar role involving digital systems and content production with creative ability and technical expertise
- Experience in co-ordinating digital systems to support the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns
- Experience of using a content management system
- Experience of managing multiple projects at the same time
- Experience of brand application in a digital context, working with pre-defined content and design guidelines
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging trends in digital marketing
Skills, knowledge & abilities
- Experience of monitoring digital systems and website performance, evaluating success against KPI’s and making informed recommendations for improvement
- Knowledge of web accessibility and data protection requirements and solutions
- Knowledge of SEO
- Skilled in writing accurate, compelling copy with a strong eye for detail
- Analysis of data and data patterns with the ability to review and make recommendations aligned to the insight it provides
Business requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Qualifications
- Relevant professional marketing qualification (such as CIM)
Experience
- Experience of working with a range of key stakeholders across cross-functional teams to meet deadlines
- Experience of using the Terminalfour CMS system
- Experience of using Google Data Studio
- Experience of training and upskilling colleagues
Skills, knowledge and abilities
- An understanding of user experience design including usability and accessibility and how IA and UI impact on UX
- Practical experience of copywriting for the web with editing and proofing skills
- An understanding of web technology and web forms
